Christ-Exalting, Bible-Saturated, Disciple-Making

    Men's Ministry

At Canyon, we desire to encourage, exhort and equip the men of our fellowship in their designed roles as disciples, husbands, fathers & leaders.

The Lord has designed and called men…

    • To act like men - Biblical manhood looks very different from the stereo-types the world has to offer.     1 Corinthians 16:13-14

    • To boldly stand for the Word of God – His desire is for us to continually grow in our knowledge, understanding and application of the Truth found in the Bible. 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16, 4:2-4, 1 Peter 3:14b - 15

    • To love our wives as Christ loved the church – As a husband, I must be willing to die to self and live to cherish, honor, protect, provide for, serve the needs of and build a friendship with my wife…this requires great physical, spiritual, mental and emotional strength, as well as great trust in the Lord. Ephesians 5:25-32, Colossians 3:19, 1 Peter 3:7

    • To raise our children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord – This task never ends…even when our children become adults and leave the home; we are still called to influence and build up the spiritual heritage and legacy of our family.  The process of spiritual leadership changes, but the responsibility does not. Ephesians 6:4, Deuteronomy 6:4-7, Hebrews 12:7-11

    • To lead in every area in which He has given influence and authority – Through Christ, we have been equipped to model sacrificial, servant leadership in our marriages, homes, churches and communities.  Titus 1:5-9, 2:6-8, Ephesians 5:25-32, 2 Corinthians 8:21

    • To be “disciple-making” disciples – We have received the mission to “pour into”, walk along side with, and present everyone under our authority, mature in Christ. Matthew 28:19-20, 1 Thessalonians 4:1, Colossians 1:28, 2 Timothy 2:2

    • To understand that their identity is in Christ, not in their job – My job is what I do… it is how the Lord provides for my family… but my job is not who I am.  Galatians 2:20, 1 Corinthians 7:17, 2 Corinthians 5:17

Men who seek to grow in their roles as a disciple, husband, father and leader must have Jesus Christ at the center of all aspects of their lives…not just as an “add-on.” That vision is reflected in our ministry and service opportunities for men here at Canyon.
